Import of animal by-products outside EU

Animal products other that intended for human consumption are animal by-products, for example hides and skins, hunting trophees, pet food, blood products for pharmaceutical use etc.

Animal by-products imported outside EU-member states must fulfill import requirements laid down for product in question. Also, import requirements exist for some other products which pose risk for spreading animal diseases, such as hay and straw.
