Tikes final information on the grain harvest and Evira’s quality analysis: Protein content of the grain harvest is low
28.01.2010 - 09:27 - The autumn 2009 wheat harvest broke records. However, the protein content of the harvest was low, and thus only a third of it fulfilled the quality requirements set for bread wheat. Of the malting barley harvest, 86 per cent fulfilled the requirements in terms of grain size and protein content. The average hectolitre weight of the feed grain crop was good, but its protein content fell short of the ten-year average.
Evira has published the results of the analysis of the control samples of feed and fertiliser products for the first half of 2009
07.12.2009 - 12:13 - The publication ”Rehu- ja lannoitevalvonnan analyysitulokset 1/2009” (Results of the analyses of the feed and fertiliser controls 1/2009) contains the results of the analyses that were completed during the period 1.1 - 30.6.2009. The publication contains the information on the analyses of about 5 900 feed samples and 110 samples of fertiliser products.
Advance information from Evira and Tike on the quality of the 2009 grain harvest: Protein content of the grain harvest is low
24.11.2009 - 08:47 - A record-breaking crop of spring wheat was harvested this autumn. However, the quality of the harvest was weakened by its low protein content, which was at its lowest level in ten years. 82 per cent of the malting barley harvest exceeded the quality requirements for malting in terms of protein content and grain size. The exceptionally low protein content also decreased the malting-quality harvest. The quality of the feed grain crop was mainly good.
No observations of Colorado beetles this summer either
10.09.2009 - 12:27 - Weather conditions and air currents this summer were not favourable to Colorado beetles spreading to Finland. No individual beetles were found that would have wintered at locations with occurrences in previous years. The control period this year has ended.
From State Seed Inspection Agency to Evira – 90 years of seed inspection
31.08.2009 - 13:09 - Government-organised seed inspection started on 1 September 1919, exactly 90 years ago. The seed inspection service was launched to secure the position of farmers purchasing seeds.
