Exceptional permits for research purposes

Quarantine pests or diseases may not be transported within the EU, and the plants must fulfil all legislative requirements, such as Protected Zone requirements. However, Evira may grant an exceptional permit for the purpose of scientific research, experiments or selection of variety, if there is no danger of spreading harmful plant diseases and pests. Further information on exceptional permits can be found under Import and Exports > Plants > Import from non-EU countries > Exceptional permits.
