The Nordic Food Control Conference 2017

The next Nordic Food Conference will be arranged on the 7th – 8th February 2017 in Helsinki, Finland. The theme of the conference is ”New Risks/New Control Methods – Are We Keeping Up”. The primary target group is local food control authorities in all Nordic countries, but other groups working in this field are also warmly welcome.

The conference is free for the participants. Lecturing material, lunches, coffees and a conference dinner are free to all participants. This has been made possible thanks to the funding granted by the Nordic Council of Ministers. However, participants have to make their own travel and accommodation arrangements and pay for them.

Registration for the conference is during 7th – 30th November 2016 and participants are registered for participation in the order in which they enroll. Everybody will be informed at the latest on the 7th December if he or she has granted conference participation.

The programmeconsists of lectures and workshops, where risks and new control methods will be discussed from various points of view. New risks are emerging for example in internet marketing which is becoming increasingly common. Also
the amount of fraud is growing. The conference programme includes three parallel seminars of which one is intended mainly for managers of food control authorities. The theme of the managerial seminar is “Risk-Based Planning of Official Controls /How are we dealing with new risks?” This seminar is open also to all other interested groups. Please

All Nordic Countries are represented in the conference planning group. The conference participants are kindly asked to primarily contact the representative of their own country concerning possible questions.
