Allergen risk: corn snacks may contain celery
The product Småfolk majspuffs (corn puff snacks), cheese & herbs, imported by Oy Semper AB, has been found to contain residues of celery. Therefore, the product may cause an allergic reaction for consumers allergic to celery. The product is safe for all other consumers. The country of origin is Ireland.
Småfolk majspuffs, cheese & herbs have been on sale throughout Finland in the largest retail outlets of the K and S Group since spring last year. The product is packaged in a 15g bag, see the illustration below. The importer requests that consumers who are allergic to celery should dispose of the product and return the empty bag, with contact information (name, address and bank account number), to Oy Semper Ab, Customer return, P.O. Box 80, FI-02631 Espoo for a refund. There is no need for the consumer to pay for postage.
Semper has already recalled the product from retailers. The products will be destroyed because the packaging does not display the text: ‘May contain residues of celery’.
