EXPORT OF FRUIT, BERRIES AND VEGETABLES TO NON-EU COUNTRIES
When exporting fruit and vegetables to non-EU countries, both plant health requirements and other requirements regarding the vegetable trade must be observed. This page contains information on plant health requirements. Other requirements concerning trade are available in the food pages.
Plant health requirements aimed at preventing plant diseases and pests from spreading vary by country and product. In many cases, a phytosanitary certificate is required. Dispatched produce may not be infested with any of the plant diseases or pests specified in the requirements imposed by the destination country. The exporter must contact the destination country’s authorities well in advance of exporting material, in order to establish the requirements applicable to the products intended for export.
Exporters of products requiring a phytosanitary certificate must register with Evira's plant health register.
