INSPECTIONS FOR EXPORTING PLANTS TO NON-EU COUNTRIES

Products exported from Finland to non-EU countries undergo export capacity inspections at production sites, and batch-specific inspections at the time of export. Such inspections establish whether the product intended for export meets the requirements of the destination country. If necessary, a sample will be taken for testing at a laboratory, to examine the presence of any pests classified as quarantine pests by the destination country. Export inspections are subject to a charge.

If the inspection finds that the product complies with the requirements set by the destination country, a phytosanitary certificate can be granted for the shipment. However, if the product fails to meet the destination country’s requirements, no phytosanitary certificate can be granted.
