IMPORT OF PROPAGATION MATERIAL FOR HORTICULTURE
A phytosanitary certificate is required for all plants for planting and other propagation material when imported from non-EU countries, and the importer must be registered in Evira’s plant health register. The shipments will be inspected upon delivery to Finland. Besides quarantine pests and diseases, the propagation material must not host any other harmful organisms that could hinder the usability of plants, and it must meet the quality requirements set in the Plant Propagation Material Act.
The import of plant propagation material of certain species is prohibited either from all non-EU countries or from certain countries. For instance, the import of fire blight host plants, such as apple trees, pear trees and rowans, is prohibited.
