The opinion of EFSA was published on 5 March 2008

EU approval for the genetically modified oilseed rape T45 has been sought for all food and feed purposes, for importing and processing but not for cultivation. The genetically modified oilseed rape T45 has been developed in order to tolerate glufosinate ammonium herbicides.

The European Commission makes its draft decision about allowing the GM oilseed rape onto the market in accordance with Regulation (EC) No 1829/2003 of the European Parliament and of the Council on genetically modified food and feed, taking into consideration, amongst other things, the opinion of EFSA and the comments from the public. The opinion is found in its entirety on the EFSA Internet page, where documents related to the opinion are also published.
