Compiled information on the quality of the autumn's grain harvest

<div>The information on the quality of the autumn’s grain harvest is compiled in the publication Finnish Grain Quality in 2007. The results of the monitoring of the quality of the grain harvest are based on the analysis results of more than 2000 grain samples.</div>

The results of the annual monitoring of the quality of the grain harvest are compiled in the publication Finnish Grain Quality in 2007. In the publication, information on average grain quality is presented by grain type, cultivation area and variety. In this first part of Finnish Grain Quality in 2007 the average values is presented, for example hectolitre weight, protein content and falling number. The second part of Finnish Grain Quality in 2007 will be published at the beginning of 2008.

The quality of the grain harvest has been monitored since 1966. The monitoring is based on the grain samples sent in by farmers. The farms taking part in the monitoring are selected randomly from the Rural Business Register of the Information Centre of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry. This year 2075 samples were received from the farms.
