The swinging “Feed rap” by the professionals monitoring animal feed and fertilizer safety in their jobs is spicing up Evira’s part of the Natural resources section at Farmari. The rap will be seen on the main stage on Saturday 2.8. at 1:45 p.m.

Evira is found in the Natural Resources section in the same area, B327, as the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, where you will also find Hämeen maanmittaustoimisto (Häme surveying office), Häme TE-Centre, Federation of Finnish Fisheries Associations, Laatuketju, Agency for Rural Affairs Mavi, Manner-Suomen maaseudun kehittämisohjelma (Rural Development Programme for Mainland Finland) and Suomen Vapaa-ajankalastajien Keskusjärjestö (Finnish central organisation for recreational fishing).

The grilling and fish processing demonstrations are alternating at the Natural Resources outdoor section, KK317. At the Laatuketju grilling demonstrations (daily at 11 a.m., 1, 3 and 5 p.m.) top chefs are grilling using raw ingredients from local producers. Influential people from different fields will also be there discussing Finnish food.

Demonstrating grilling will be for example the Minister of Agriculture and Forestry Sirkka-Liisa-Anttila (Th. 31.7. at 11 a.m.), Director General of Food Safety Authority Evira Jaana Husu-Kallio (Fr. 1.8. at 1 p.m.), Prime Minister Matti Vanhanen (Sat. 2.8. at 11 a.m.), Minister of Finance Jyrki Katainen (Sat. 2.8. at 1 p.m.) and Mayor of Lahti Jyrki Mylly-virta (Sat. 2.8. at 3 p.m.).

Evira’s stand is offering information on the correct way of storing food and on hygiene in the home kitchen, new brochures on welfare of dogs and cats, cattle and chickens and
information on the disposal of old pesticides.
