Food Safety Authority Evira moves to Viikki


<div>The main facilities of Food Safety Authority Evira have been completed in the Viikki area of Helsinki. The relocation of the Authority starts on Friday 16 June and continues till the end of the month. </div>

All of Evira's Helsinki and Vantaa locations will move to the new Viikki facility. The relocation concerns a total of some 500 employees.

The removal process may disturb data and telephone services from time to time.

The new facility is located in Viikki Science Park, address Mustialankatu 3, FI-00790 Helsinki, Finland. In addition to offices, the building also contains high quality laboratory facilities. The building has been designed by Architects Lahdelma & Mahlamäki Oy.

Evira's regional units continue in their existing locations in Turku, Kuopio, Oulu, Seinäjoki, Kouvola, Lappeenranta, Joensuu, Kajaani, Loimaa and Siilinjärvi.

The Food Safety Authority Evira was founded at the beginning of May by amalgamating the National Veterinary and Food Research Institute (EELA), the National Food Agency and the Plant Production Inspection Centre (KTTK), as well as the executive functions of the Department of Food and Health of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry.
