No German dioxin contaminated feed imported to Finland


<p>The Finnish Food Safety Authority has been notified of dioxin contaminated pig and poultry feed in Germany through the Rapid Alert System for Food and Feed (RASFF). On Wednesday 5 January 2011, the European Commission confirmed through the RASFF that feed from the manufacturer in question has not been imported to Finland.</p>

The German food safety authorities are still investigating the origin of the feed and the potential transfer of dioxin from the contaminated feed to foodstuffs. Evira is monitoring the situation and will take necessary action on the basis of information received from authorities and the Commission.

Evira has not received additional information from the German authorities concerning foodstuffs in Finland.
