Public defence of a dissertation on campylobacteria in Finnish poultry production, particularly on Campylobacter jejuni and C. coli.

<p>Campylobacteria may cause food poisoning in people, insufficiently cooked poultry being regarded as one of the sources of infection.</p>

Senior Researcher Päivikki Perko-Mäkelä, Head of Section at Evira’s Production Animal and Wildlife Research Unit’s Production Animal Section, will defend her doctoral thesis (University of Helsinki, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Department of Food Hygiene and Environmental Health) on Friday, 19 August 2011.

The public defence of this dissertation will take place in Seinäjoki, Frami, Auditorium 2, Kampusranta 9, at 12.00 noon.
