Public examination of a dissertation on Nordic health registers for dairy cows

The dissertation investigated the quality of data collected and stored in the national dairy disease registers (NDDRs) of Finland, Denmark, Sweden and Norway. The recorded information is used, for example, for herd health and animal welfare assessments, production management, genetic evaluations and epidemiologic research.

Simo Rintakoski, M.Sc., who works at the Risk Assessment Research Unit of the Finnish Food Safety Authority Evira, will defend his dissertation in the field of veterinary epidemiology (University of Helsinki, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Department of Veterinary Biosciences).

The public examination of the dissertation will take place on 24 January 2014 at 12 pm in EE-talo’s Walter Hall at the Viikki Campus in Helsinki. The address is Agnes Sjöbergin katu 2.
