Research Seminar 28.1.2014: Dioxins as environmental toxins and tools to understand toxicity mechanisms

Jere Lindén, Doctor of Veterinary Medicine, explains the current significance of dioxins as environmental toxins. Since they cause foetal damage and are lethal to laboratory animals even in small doses, dioxins are sometimes even referred to as “super toxins”. As consequences of occupational exposure or accidents, dioxins have caused toxic effects to humans (chloracne being the most well-known).

You can familiarise yourself to the subject via the summary (pdf, 13 kB).

The research seminar takes place in Viikki, Helsinki, at the Evira house, Mustialankatu 3, auditorium C111, on Tuesday 28 January 2014, from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

The seminar is open to all and does not require preliminary enrolment.
