Restrictions on meat export to Russia lifted for two major meat business operators


<p>The Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitory Surveillance (Rosselhoznadzor) has informed Finnish Food Safety Authority Evira today that temporary export restrictions are lifted for two Finnish pork production establishments on 10 December 2010 at 2 pm. These establishments are the Nurmo production facility of Atria Suomi Oy and the Forssa production facility of HK Ruokatalo Oy.</p>

The approval of the Jyväskylä production facility of Saarioisten Lihanjalostus Oy is under review by the Customs Union of Russia, Kazakhstan and Belarus. The temporary restrictions imposed on Atria Suomi Oy's second pork production facility in Nurmo remain in force.

These decisions are based on the outcome of the inspection visit conducted by Rosselhoznadzor at the meat facilities in question during 8.-12.11.2010.
