Research Seminar 17.4.2018: Occurrence of hepatitis E virus in Finland

Senior Researcher, DVM (PhD) Tuija Kantala, from the Virology Research Unit of Finnish Food Safety Authority Evira, talks about hepatitis E virus and it´s occurrence in pigs and humans in Finland, based on her dissertation.

The seminar discusses the occurrence of hepatitis E virus (HEV) in Finland in production pigs, veterinarians, and human patients with an undiagnosed type of hepatitis. The seminar also covers the zoonotic nature of HEV and the risk of foodborne HEV infections.

The abstract gives an introduction to the subject.

The research seminar will be held in Viikki, Helsinki, at the Evira House, Mustialankatu 3, Hall C111, on Tuesday, 17 April 2018, from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. The seminar is open to all and does not require preliminary enrolment. The seminar is in Finnish.
